Afaik the issue is when you’re playing in a joinable lobby hackers can query the server and it gives way too much information. The lobby need to be joinable for this to work. If you’re playing online with friends you have to set the lobby to the amount of players playing or else youre vulnerable because someone can use this query functionTo my knowledge you just can't play a online match, private matches are still a thing, and you can sue the command console to force a zombies map in BO2 so long as zombies is launched. I don't think there are any ways to bypass the initial requirement of "connecting to online services" just before main menu, while being VAC banned.
